Wendy Kahn has worked in the field of addiction for the past 28 years. In that time she has worked with Community outreach programs, Drug free workplace training, admissions, Intervention, and therapy. She has owned her own successful business, and is devoted to this work. Her goal is to provide help and guidance to clients, and their families, navigating through the mental health system. She is passionate about removing the stigma about mental illness in our country, as well as helping clients move through the system with ease. Personally Wendy was introduced to the program of recovery 30 years ago. She went through a 30 day program where she learned about addiction and the 12 steps of recovery. While in treatment, Wendy also learned why she had been using, and what her triggers were. She dealt with many childhood issues and trauma, and learned she was medicating that pain. Ten years after her treatment for addiction, she entered another treatment center to deal with an eating disorder, which really took hold of her after she had put down the drugs and alcohol. Her journey has been nothing short of amazing. Never could she have imagined the life she has had in recovery. She understands the disease from every perspective. As the addict, as the recovering addict, and as a mother.

Laura Dougherty is our Director of Operations and is one of the staff that spends the most time with our clients. Laura has been sober almost eleven years, since November 24, 2005. She is a Certified Addiction Specialist, and has worked in the field of recovery for over 5 years now. Prior to her work in the field of addiction, Laura worked in Management for a major corporation for eight years. After Laura felt secure in her own recovery, she knew she had to switch careers, and work with addicts/alcoholics, as it gave real purpose to her work. Her love for the recovering individual is enormous. She loves taking part in the beginning of their journey and believes clients are our number 1 priority. She always makes sure they are comfortable, understood and treated with love, respect, and kindness. Laura will tell you that other than her own recovery, and working in the field, the loves of her life are her daughter and grandchildren. She loves spending time with them when not at work. While at work she treats both staff and clients with that same motherly/grandmotherly love. Restore Hope of feels very lucky to have her with us, and all that she brings with her to our company.
JJ Daniello came to terms with his own struggle with addiction over 2 years ago. He was admitted into a detoxification center for his struggle with drugs and alcohol. He was then admitted into a 30 day program where he exceled beyond the expectations of the staff. It is often said that if you look at a textbook case of how recovery is done the right way you could find JJ’s picture. JJ went on to get to work for the program he graduated from. He worked closely beside Wendy Kahn in Utilization review, Billing and collections. Again, he showed his ability to learn and work high above the expectations of the staff. When Wendy Kahn decided to open up her own facility she knew she could not do it without JJ. She has often said he is her right hand and indeed he is. He came to Restore Hope because of his belief in our mission to help those that have been through trauma. JJ’s bright and positive attitude is an asset to Restore Hope. He brings with him the knowledge of the Admissions process, dealing with Insurance companies for purposes of Utilization Review, and all billing for mental health.
